We at Thomas are looking for a cross-functional Experience Optimization Manager to join the User Experience team.
We’re a team of skilled designers, developers, and strategists responsible for optimizing the platform powering the American manufacturing industry. While we’ve been facilitating the relationship between B2B buyers and industrial suppliers at Thomas for more than 120 years, the millions of companies today who connect on our platform rely on us to provide a streamlined user experience.
The philosophy here is simple: Happy users translate to a healthy business.
You’ll have the right balance of…
…soft and technical skills, culminating in the ability to lead the Thomasnet.com experience optimization efforts.
Ideally, you’ll have around three years experience of optimizing the user experience of high-traffic websites via rigorous A/B testing — your proven record speaks for itself.
Although A/B testing is at the core of what you do and conversion rates are something you obsess over, you understand that a truly satisfying user experience goes beyond conversions and into the realm of qualitative analysis — you, of course, have experience in measuring and improving this as well.
Your technical skills allow you to ideate, mockup, implement, and analyze A/B tests. You take pride in your ability to work with and speak the language of designers, developers, and product managers in order to effectively scale your process.
Your soft skills are sharp — you’re able to efficiently and effectively communicate test results, process, and ideas to team members in order to get the necessary buy-in to move forward. You know the importance of and have experience in implementing, maintaining, and improving a human-centered process with clear standards.
And the end of the day, you have a deep passion for what you do with the curiosity and drive to develop yourself professionally — something we’d love to help you with.
You’ll be taking full ownership of…
…ideating, setting up, and analyzing results of user-focused A/B tests of the Thomasnet.com website. With a primary focus on increasing our testing velocity, the testing roadmap will be yours to spearhead.
As much as we appreciate your ability to set these tests up on your own, we know that a fully hands-on approach doesn’t scale well — you’ll be in charge of upgrading our one-person approach to a scalable cross-team process.
We have plenty of ideas for things to test and experiences to improve, but your ability to prioritize and laser focus on what will have the biggest impact on the user experience will determine the success of our Experience Optimization program.
